Hello everyone,

currently we´re running a Street Dogs contest. The task was to give us an answear, why you should become the lucky winner. Epitaph helped out to announce the contest on the internet.

All I can tell you is that if you send me the poster and CD it will be
greatly appreciated and the poster will go into a frame with 2 of their set
lists and an autographed record. I don't have a spectacular story about whyI deserve it more than someone else, but I can say that I will take better care of it than anyone else.

I think that I should win because I could use a pick me up in my life. In the last 3 months I have been dumped after a 4 year relationship, one of my closest friends shot himself in the head, I have been unable to find work and the last job that I had ended in failure and my boss still hasnt paid me and its been over a month I am about a week from being homeless and no money for food anymore, The only thing that
keeps me going is the gift of music, Without that I think that I would have gone about this situation differently. I always have a copy of a street dogs cd in my home cd player at all times and I have 3 street dogs cd's in my ipod at all times. Anything to help raise my spirts would be a great help. Oh and I am not one of those 16 yr olds that think they have life by the tails I am 27 and been a member of the scene in minneapolis for 13 years, I have done my part to keep the scene alive and make sure that all the new members know that we are a family and not a style of dress. Hope to hear back from you soon.

Why do I deserve to win this contest? What makes me a better choice than other people? Nothing. I haven't been through anything that would make me special in any way for this. The only thing I can offer is my appreciation for the band. But isn't that what it's all about?
I heard Street Dogs for the first time on some street punk collection CD I bought. I don't recall exactly what it was. I liked them, but never really invested much time or attention in them at first. Then I went to a Rancid concert in Dallas where Street Dogs were playing. At that point, I hadn't listened to their albums that my brother bought. But hearing them
live just blew me away. There was so much energy from them. From what I've heard and seen, that's what they do for every show regardless of how big the crowd is. That is really something to admire. Something that impresses me about the band even more than the effort they put into
shows is just the amount of caring and passion they seem to have for the common man. It's hard being a part of middle America these days. It feels like the guys up top are breathing down your neck and trying to get that last buck from you. I mean, I might not agree with everything they say, but the genuine concern they have for the people of America is something you don't see from many people, and it's something you sure as hell don't see from the politicians. On a more personal note, I have to admire Mike's involvement in the military. You see, I'm in the Navy and I really feel like he knows where all of us in every branch are coming from. It's a time of confusion and uncertainty. Most of us still have very mixed feelings on the government's policies. Even though I'm in the Navy, I
still know people who've been in Iraq and I know people who are going. I'll most likely go in the next several years myself. Boots on the ground kind of stuff. I've seen them live twice, and both times Mike has told everyone to support the troops and it means something to me now because of my job but also because he was there. Most people can talk alot about the issue, but he has first hand experience and again, he really cares about it. So that's it. I can't say I really deserve it more than anyone because of anything special. All I have is admiration of their passion for the subject matter, and appreciation for their music. And if that's not enough to get me a free CD and poster, so be it. But I may still end up with their name tattooed on my ass.

I should be the lucky winner because I am a huge fan of Mikes and the Street Dogs. I live way up in upstate NY, and there are no shows scheduled close to my area this summer. I am so disappointed. I've only seen them once and I couldn't talk or hear after the show for about a day. I would gladly loose my voice and my hearing for a day to see them again. So please hook this guy way out in the woods up with some
Street Dog goodies, It's all I've got to look forward to amongst the trees and smell of cow shit this summer.

I should win because I never win anything. What do you say?

I believe that I should win the contest because I am a dedicated Street Dogs fan. I make sure that every time they are in town for a concert that I am there and up front to sing alont with Mike McColgan and all the members. I have been waiting for the State of Grace album ever since they signed with Hell Cat. When they released "Two Angry Kids" on the Hell Cat website I listened to the song over 50 times to learn the lyrics so I could sing a long with them at the concert I was going to see them in the next day. The Street Dogs are an amazing band who make some of the best music out there today and I am glad to call myself a fan of them.

We had/have tons of entries on the contest. Thanks so much for your great participation.
