Hello there!!!! Just replying in regards to the new CHUKKA BOOT!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
I unfortonately never got to get my hands on their first shoe back in 2000 but i hope i can get my hands on a pair of one of these bad boys!!!!
Ive been a fan of Millencolin since i was still in elementary school. My older brother usto make me listen to 'em, and before i knew it i was hooked.
This new shoe is different, edgy,.....well it's MILLENCOLIN!!!!
Think its a skaters ideal shoe and a Millencolins fan's dream.
Im currently in Iraq and would love nothing more to come back to a pair of these!!!!!

Woo!

Well I could sit and tell you what I love about Millencolin but it might take all day! However attempting to keep things somewhat brief and to the point I'll talk about one of my favourite aspects of Millencolin and that is that I love the fact that Millencolin have remained original without radically changing their sound.
I mean when you put on a Millencolin record be it some of the stuff from the earlier albums or their newer stuff its very distinct as soon as the punk rock riffs kick in overlayed with Nikola's distintive vocal style.
Alot of bands that have been around for the amount of time that Millencolin have, often change their style either to generate wider appeal and more TV/Radio airplay or to go off on a tangent because they've grown tired of the sound that gave them their start. The problem with this is that when a band makes such a big change to their sound it can often alienate fans of their original style as not all fans will stay with a band if they dont like its' new direction.
Thankfully Millencolin haven't done this - but thats not to say they've stayed the same either. You can clearly see the progression in their sound when directly comparing 'Tiny/Same Old Tunes' to 'Machine 15' and its interesting to hear the changes that come in on each album they've released on the journey between the two.
Some of my other favourite punk bands have also remained true to their roots throughout their career but they've not really progressed from the sound of their first album - you listen to their latest offerings compared to the earlier albums of some 10+ years ago and the only noticeable difference is usually the production quality of the actual recording and the songs themselves sound very similar.
Now it's not always a bad thing to stay the same, (I mean I'd rather a band keeps making the sound I love than radically altering their style to something I'm less keen on) but I think Millencolin are one of those few bands that have continued to progress throughout their career without forgetting their roots.
I've also had the pleasure of seeing Millencolin several times when they've visited the UK and hope they'll continue to play shows over here for years to come!

As for the shoe - its very cool! The classic Chukka boot but with a small splash of Millecolin to give it some extra edge. Its' not too over the top interms of the logos and i think the white MC looks great on the charcoal setting of the Chukka. I can't really elaborate more than that as I'm someone thats normally more about comfort & function over style - However I think with Millencolin branding on a Chukka you're getting the best of both!! Very Happy

Ok guys... I will be quik. First, I'll let you know that I'm a French Canadian and my english is probably the poorest ever. But I'll try and, for sure, get drunk in the process. Now let's talk about some good guys, let's talk about the group.. You have to know guys that Millencolin stay in my top five for about 12 years and probably will be for life. My favorite album is Pennybridge Pioneers. I study all Millencolin's lyric and I love the way Nikola tell his stories. I saw them 2 times in Quebec and this city is at 300 km from my home. I got a band since five years (myspace.com/alytheband) and I start to play music with my friend by some cover. We've already play songs like Flippin' Beans, Kemp and Pinguins and Polarbear (a great desaster). I like sweden (and yougoslav to) music and people. One of my other favorite bands is call Randy... Do you know them?? Wink They've come to my little town (La Baie, Saguenay, Quebec) about 2 years ago and they play a show in a little bar, just after another show (Propagandhi). That was a crazy 21 years old biirthday. I pay jack daniels to all the member of Randy and I was drunk enough to sleep on the shoulder of my bassman in this little bar.. Ok I get lost.... and to be serious.. I really need new shoes.. I'm poor and don't have money.. And this model of Vans is awesome. By the way my friends laugh at me and they said to me that I'm crazy to think I can win a Millencolin pair of shoes. I like Franky Lee and Nikola solo career to...

From a desperate poor guys how want to impress his band... Smile

And I'm drunk another time... Jagermeister this time.. I no more able to drink Jack Daniels..,

Peace, from your dearest fans!

Frans

The Music
Getting older is hard, expectations and responsibilities inevitably mount up as society attempts to form us into dependable adults. Unfortunately not all of us can live our entire lives wearing studded leather jackets and sporting mohawks in colours that you wouldn’t know existed. Millencolin provides the secret music that I can listen to that gets my blood pumping and takes me back to the carefree days of skateboarding, band practise and skipping german class to go bowling.

The Shoe
It seems that the new shoe, along with the band, has grown up whilst staying true to it’s roots. The minimal charcoal body wouldn’t look out of place at the bottom of a business suit, while the red sole provides a striking yet hidden contrast. Like wearing your lucky batman underwear to a job interview, these shoes give you the chance to grow up but not grow old.

Hey,

First of all, excuses for my english. It's not perfect.
Well, when i was a teenager i met with this Sweden band by my friend. He gave me a casette tape(same old tunes) to hear it. Then i „forgot” to gave it back to him. I always heard that tape. At home, on a bus, during skateboarding.
I remember...
Sunny afternoons on a dirty wrong quality asphalt, my first ollie, watching the clouds and birds with my younger brother after skateboarding a lot of hours, my broken ankle what was a result of a bad heelflip, flustering by school exercises, later drunk parties, inspiration to start playing on a bass...and so on.
And Millencolin was always with by me.
Every Millencolin track reminds me many very good and some bad memories.
About the shoes:
I wait it for a long time and now i have a chance to get a pair of theese classic Vans shoes. I definietly not want to wear it. It's an epic relic from my favourite band. Who wants to destroy it? If i won't won it i'll try to find a way to buy it somehow.
Cheers,
Peter

Millencolin is the freakin greatest band of all time. they dont have a single bad song and keep releasing killer albums. the first time i ever heard them was when i was playing tony hawks pro skater 2 at my friends house. No Cigar blasted out over the speakers and i knew i had a new favorite song and new favorite band. I listen to that track every day and still cant get enough. you can never get enough millencolin

these shoes look pretty dam sweet. the graphic reminds me of old school millencolin and there is just no better shoe model for millencolin than the chukka boot. millencolins style is written all over these and i gotta get my hands on them

well,
I have seen MC about 5 years ago and I just have to admit, that they rock. Nikola and the Gang is a cool group of punkrockers. Really admire their shoes.

The first time I heard Millencolin I was playing Tony Hawks II and listening "No Cigar", but I didn't know who they were, only later (during the release of the album "Kingwood") when a friend showed me the video of them playing No Cigar at Musique Plus (Quebec, Canada). Since that day i started to listen their sound all the time, and after each song I liked them more and more.

I became a big fan from day to night!!!

What makes MC rocks is that their albums sounds different from each other. They are not a band with redundant CD's like a bunch of other bands we see today, it makes me admire them more. Not considering the feeling that the big Nik's Sarcevic shows in his compositions. I'm so sorry I couldn't go their last show here in South America (Machine 15 Tour). About the new CD, it's different from all that they've done, and it makes them incredible, among the new songs, the hits for me are "Ducks & Drakes"and "Junkie For Success" (Detox B-side).

VANS, the best clothe's brand of extreme sports, since 1966.
T-Shirts and Shoes without comparison, awesome!

Doubtless a perfect match,
the classic Chukka boots with the kings of Swedish punk rock.

MC + Vans is true
