We Are The Ocean - Cutting Our Teeth

The five piece post-hardcore band “We Are The Ocean” from England (London/Essex) formed in 2007. Since then they played hundreds of shows including several festivals, like “Bamboozle” or “Taste Of Chaos”. The band, who had only released one EP (that sold 1000 copies on just one day) recently signed with Hassle Records in the UK. On January 16 the band released their debut album “Cutting Our Teeth”. Their music is typical Screamo music. I am not into this kind of music any more, nevertheless I was pretty much impressed by the band, because Liam - they the clean-voice singer - totally catched my attention. He reminds me so much to Dallas Green from Alexisonfire. Dallas Green is one of the very best singers around, I think. Liam from We Are The Ocean sounds so “Dallas” to me, that impressed me from the very first minute on. We Are The Ocean has released a real impressive album yet, which tends between explosive and anger moments, while Liam brings a soft and silent aspect into the music. I really feel reminded to Alexisonfire’s masterpiece record “Watch Out”. I can think of this band becoming really huge. They have a huge potential and a strong UK based label in the back.
