Christian Rock band This Beautiful Republic from Toledo, Ohio started out in 2004. The five members went together to Highschool and found a band project. In 2006 they already gained a record deal and signed with Fore Front Records (Dizmas, Toby Mac, Philmont). The bands sophomore effort “Perceptions” got released trough EMI/ Forefront records on August 19, 2008. EMI has found a subdivision label, just to promote christian Rock music. In Germany christian company Gerth Media has decided to promote the band. Singer and songwriter Ben Olin has created 13 intimate songs about personal relationships to God and Jesus. With strong chords, perfect pop-sensibilities, stunning melodies and great back-up vocals this masterpiece of music is waiting for new listeners. Unfortunately not many people seem to know about this band. I checked out a few reviews on them on the internet. 98% were to find on Christian sites. Even non-believers definitely should take a listen to this strong mix of Pop and Rock. Their beautiful ballard "For The Life Of Me" is so sensitive and so beautiful at once and the "Surrender Saved My Life" just includes a very strong refrain with stunning back up vocals. This tune almost sounds like a New Found Glory classic. The assistance on “My God” by Aaron Gillespie of Underoath makes this record even more interesting for fans. This record might become a perfect match for you, if like The Almost, Anberlin and Spitalfield.
