The Out_Circuit Pierce the empire with a sound

TheOutCircuitIt is been a while ago, since The Out_Circuit has released any new material. Their recent record was called “Burn you scripts, boys” and it appeared in 2003. I honestly need to admit, that I never heard of the band before. Yet I received their killer record “Pierce the empire with a sound”, which got released on Lujo Records. The record starts with a killer song, called “Come out shooting”. This tune is dark, so frightening and so massive at least. Huge basslines collide here with explosive screaming and strong drum work. The song spread a frightening and dark atmosphere, while you hear a very evil and despaired shouter. By the way, Dustin Kensrue from Thrice and Sean Ingram from Coalesce are helping out – among others - on the record. There are a couple of musicians, like Andy Gale or Chaz Baber, who played for example drums and keys. The record was mixed by Teppei Teranishi of Thrice. I really love the dark and haunting atmosphere on the record. If you like Thrice´s newest release (The Alchemy Index I & II), then you love “Pierce the empire with a sound”. I still can figure out so many parallels to diverted bands alike Scatter The Ashes, Logh, AVA, Farside, Snapcase, Deftones, The Receiving End Of Sirens and tons more. The Out_Circuit consits of Nathan Burke who plays synthesizers and who does the vocals. The most outstanding track is "Come Out Shooting", fallowed by a song, called "Passchendaele". You won´t believe how fascinating it is to listen to Nathan´s fragile voice on one hand, while it collides with super-strong guitars and strange noises, that got created with synthezisers. Dustin Kensrue sings for example on the song “The Contender”, that consists of super hard edged guitar work and slamming drums. At least I want to tell you, that it was pretty hard for me to describe the record. You should know, that TOC does not plays screamo or Hardcore. Instead you find ambient/psychadellic/chill sound with heavy screamo parts in it. There is a tune called "We". That tune sounds like a trance/ambient/chill contribution to the "Café Del Mar" compilation (Spanish chill out compilation - pretty well known in Europe). The record is highly recommended on P76.
