The Color Fred bend to break
Equal Vision Records . release date: 10/30/2007 . written by Oliver
Fred Mascherino presents it´s very first solo album, with the title "Bend To Break" on Equal Vision. Fred is known for beeing the guitarist in Taking Back Sunday. Honestly Taking Back Sunday is really a good band, but The Color Fred is even better. I can´t figure out exactly what it is, that I like so much about Fred´s solo album- probably the insightful refrains impress me that much. The album contains so much power, melody, creativeness and melancoly. And so you find eleven Pop Rock tunes, pretty much in the vein of Taking Back Sunday and R.E.M. Fred really has the right feeling for good songs and so he combines his personal feelings with hard edged Rock tunes, which got filled out with piano, glockenspiel and violin. I think Equal Vision records can call themselves lucky to release this collection of mastertunes on their label.
