Toothandnail Records is always looking out for new great bands and so they
signed christian Gothic Rock band The Becoming in 2007. On
September 30th 2008 the band released their very first full lenght CD on Toothandnail
records. The record contains thirteen haunting Rock tracks, pretty much in the
vein of Nine Inch Nails, HIM and it also reminds me to classic Depeche Mode
material from the late 80´s and 90´s. The band went late 2007 in
the studio with producer Steve Wilson and produced a majority of the songs between
December and January 2008. The guitars on Vol. I have turned out pretty hard,
with edgy riffs, the drums are strong and the dominant synthesizers in the back
remind me a lot to The Cure. The Becoming´s Vol. I has turned out pretty
massive, dark and just overwhelming. Caleb Owens erotic voice really completes
this great album.
