Teenage Bottlerocket, who are fronted by Kody (Ex-Lillingtons) started out on Red Scare Industries before they got signed to Fat Wreck. Red Scare is run by Toby J. who worked at Fatwreck before. He signed the band and released an album with Red. I had the album at hime and I was not a big fan of it. It was too much Pop Punk in the vein of Lillingtons and Huntingtons with a small breeze of Ramones in it to find. I never became friends with the release but it seems as if the album surprised the scene and also the press, because it became a big success. Fat Wreck recently signed the band and released “They Came From The Shadows” with them. The new album has turned out really good. I am surprised about myself, but I love the well-recorded album. The new record starts with a killer tune, called “Skate Or Die”. This track sounds so 80’s but it takes you directly from your feet, because it has such a great atmosphere. I also like the refrain: “Don’t be a pussy, there is no need to cry, so shut up and get rad, cuz’ now it’s time to skate or die..”. I really love these rhymes. Teenage Bottlerocket have released a well produced album with killer-punk-rock-anthems on. There is really no single bad song to find. Every song has power and charisma. Well, the album consists of Pop-Punk but not such a pussy Pop Punk in the vein of All Time Low; but more in a Ramones and 80’s way.
