Sights And Sounds features band members from Comeback Kid, Sick City The Getaway and Figure Four. To me it seems as if an "All-Star-Combo" has decided to form a brandnew band. SAS is fronted by vocalist Andrew Neufeld, who is singing for Comeback Kid. His vocals are pretty strong and raw at once. You should really pay attention on the drums, when you listen to the record. Andrew´s brother, Joel Neufeld, is playing drums and his abilities are really amazing. Bassist Matt Howes and guitarist Adrian Mottram make the band complete. The band got influenced by The Police, Lifetime, FooFighters and others. You may think, that SAS is a puristic hardcore band - indeed they differ a lot from bands like Comeback Kid. The EP does not contain old school hardcore music! No, instead you find very strong and raw Rock music, that includes many emotional and sensitive moments, that got underlined by the insert of piano sometimes. SAS often has often remind me to Farside from Sweden, because of it´s dark and sensitive elements. On the other hand the dynamic and powerful style of the band reminds me to As Friends Rust. To sum up the record I can state, that SAS is grounded on hard edged guitars and very powerful drumming, combined with gigantic bassline and fronted by a charismatic singer with a strong voice. The four members wrote their songs on experiences of life, poems, literate and human conditions. To me SAS is the very best material from the recent years.
