Rise Against - Appeal To Reason

Rise AgainstChicago´s punkrock kings Rise Against are back with their fifth studio release "Appeal To Reason". The band, fronted by charismatic singer Tim McIlrath, has started out in 2001 on indie label Fat Wreck Chords. Rise Against was always a representant of melodic hardcore music. With Appeal To Reason the band has released their third major label release, produced by Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore (All/ Decendents) who once again made a great job. Rise Against was always a stunning - and a pretty hard - band. On Appeal To Reason the band stayed true to their roots and released another stunning hardcore-based-melody-core record. Unfortunately the record does not contain any fast songs. Therefore the songs are kept in a midtempo manner; except track number ten, which is an accoustic song called "Hero Of War". On Appeal To Reason Rise Against have recorded fourteen strong hardcore tracks that have not turned out so very different from their previous material. By the way I read comparisons written by critiques who compare Rise Against´s sucsess story with Nirvana. The new record sold over 65000 in its first week of release and debuted #3 in the top billboard charts. To sum up the review you should be informed, that Rise Against is probably the most political band, that a major label has ever signed.
