Kids In Glass Houses - Smart casual

Roadrunner Records . release date 26/05/08 . review written by Oliver

KidsInGlassHousesEveryone who likes Fall Out Boy, Hoobastank, Incubus and That Was Something has to pay attention to my review now. The UK Alternative Pop Rockers Kids In Glass Houses offer an fantastic debut release on Roadrunner records. The CD is called Smart Casual and to me it sounds like a mixture of the listed bands above. The record starts off with a song called “Fisticuffs” – a huge Rock song with slamming drums and hook laden guitars. I need to advise you to check out the refrain, which sounds like a Hoobastank tune to me. The next song is called “Easy Tiger” – a romantic Pop Rock tune, pretty much in the style of “That Was Something”, which is a Pop Punk band on Oort/Lobster records from Santa Babara. Track three is called “Give Me What I Want” which sounds like a Incubus-Hoobastank tune, underlayed by a sensible Pop-refrain. “Lovely Bones” and “Girls”are Rock tracks, that include 80´s elements. Especially these songs reminds me a lot to That Was Something. The record contains twelve really good Rock songs, which are just mindblowing and perfectly dedicated to a great summer.
