Hot Rod Circuit The underground is a dying breed
Universal/Immortal Records . 2007
Hell yes! Hot Rod Circuit is back with another stunning release, called "The
Underground is a dying breed", out on Immortial records. The band got signed
to a new label, since they left Vagrant records recently. Now the boys present
their CD, which contains twelve Rock songs, that are kept in a kind of indie-college
manner. I like the fact, that Hot Rod Circuit named themselfes after a quote from Mr.
Burns in a Simpsons episode. About the new record I can tell you, that HotRod has released another
stunning masterpiece again. Solid guitar work collides on sweeping drums and snotty
vocals here. The band dares to explore new fields, and so you find additional
instruments in their music now, like violins. The sing-a-long factor is pretty
high on this record and it is fun to listen to those twelve outstanding tracks.
I could assume, that Vagrant and even Triple Crown records are biting themselfes,
when they listen to the new HRC. At least I would like to mention, that Hot Rod
is not capable for Emo/ HC Kids. I would describe Hot Rod as Rock music for adults,
who like to drive their car fast to the tunes of HRC.
