Goldfinger - Hello destiny

Sideonedummy records . 04/22/2008 . written by Oliver

GoldfingerGoldfinger became an international act, since they started out in 1995. In 2007 the band got out of it´s contract with major label Maverick Records and got signed to Sideonedummy then. Their new record Hello Destiny appeared on 04/22/2008 on small indie label Sideonedummy. If I reflect the old days I clearly renember how stocked I was when Goldfinger´s record Hang Ups came out in 1997. Honestly, their music did not really changed much since then. You still find the same charming melodies; and well, John Feldmann´s voice sounds still so charismatic and still so very great.John, who is an active vegan and a speaker for animal group PETA, re-recruited still writes political and critiqual songs alike Handjobs For Jesus or Free Kevin Jonas. I am not really into Ska music any more, but I have to admit, that Goldfinger´s newest release has really turned out to be a good record. Their melodies are still great, the drums vary between fast and midtempo styles and the horns still blow powerful in the back. Goldfinger has recorded twelve exciting (Ska) Rock tracks, pretty much in the vein of their foregoer records. Hello Destiny is the bands sixth album. John Feldmann, who worked as a producer with bands alike Good Charlotte, Story Of The Year or The Used, just produced the newest Goldfinger record. The music still sounds like ten years ago, but on Hello Destiny you find less Ska and more straight Rock tunes. I am fine with that decision and honestly I am fine with the great new release. It makes fun to listen to melodic Poprock/ Skapunk tunes, which spread a real good mood.
