Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow: A Musical

In 2008 frontman Thomas Dutton announced on Myspace, that the band broke up due
to personal differences. Afterwards Thomas sat down and created the most intersting
piece of music, that I have ever heard. FD was a “normal” and good
Rock band, when they debuted on Fueled By Ramen records. And normally it is sad
to see, if bands break up but in this case this was the best that was ever going
to happen to the “band”. Thomas and Rudy Gajadhar from Gatsbys American
Dream have created a full musical – and well I mean a real musical (!) –
with tons of instruments to find, with interesting stories and characters. Thomas
has used a synthesizer to create all those different instruments but to me it
sounds like a authentic orchestra. The Pop-Punk style has faded away now you find
a new kind of “Rock” style. On Razia’s Shadow tons of guest
musicians participated along with Max Bemis (Say Anything), Brendon Urie (Panic
At The Disco), Chris Conley (Saves The Day), Greta Salpeter (The Hush Sound) and
tons more. Every musician is “playing” or better singing a certain
character. I listen to Rock music since 15 years now but I honestly have to admit
that “Razia’s shadow” is the most interesting piece of music,
that I have ever heard.
