Fall Out BoyChicago Pop Punk act Fall Out Boy released their fourth studio effort on December 13, 2008 trough Island/ FBR/Decaydance records. Before I let you know what the album is about I would like to introduce you to the big list of people who helped out making this album: Neal Avron and Hip-Hop artist Pharrell Williams produced the record. Furthermore Brendon Urie from Panic At The Disco, famous singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, Travis McCoy from Gym Class Hereos and William Beckett from The Academy Is helped out. Hip Hop artist Pharell Williams and Lil Wayne also helped out among others, that I wont mention here now, because there was just to much people around helping out on vocals on this album. I think the lineup shows, that Fall Out Boy is not that "tiny" Punk band any more, that once started out on Uprising Records in 2003. To be honest I was always a fan of their debut to FBR Records, that was called "Take This To Your Grave". Two major releases fallowed that I liked, but I did not loved them as much as their FBR debut. On Folie à Deux I finally find the love for the band again. This stunning album is not only full of people, who helped out. It also contains tons of different styles and ideas, that are really interesting to find out. The record tend between Pop Punk and Disco Punk. I will explain later what this means. Currently there is a new single on the national radio to hear, called "I don´t care". I was dissapointed when I heard this tune because reminded me so much to Marilyn Manson. I mean, I respect this artist and his musician but it was just a musical direction that I did not liked about FOB. Anyway, the album offers so many great songs that it even becomes difficult to list the best ones here. Me personally totally like track number three, which is called "She's my Winona". This tune consists of slamming-drum work and a cool refrain, that directly grabs you up and makes you sing-a-long to. I also like this track because Patrick's "Who-Oh-Oh's" totally reminds me to their great debut from 2003 on FBR records. I also want to focuss on track number 4, called "America's Suithearts". This tune reminds me a lot to New Found Glory's last record "Coming Home". The drums and the screwing guitars spread a little Hardcore anthem, while the chorus is just bittersweet and simply wonderful. There are also two great tracks with Lil Wayne and Pharell Williams to find. One is called "Tiffany Blews". This track; especially the guitars reminds me a lot to Michael Jackson´s "Moonwalker" and Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal", which is also a cover, orginally performed by Michael Jackson. "W.A.M.S" is the next track to find on this record featuring Pharell Williams. The track has a "Disco-dancefloor-attitude". The drums are so smooth here and the refrain is just mindblowing. In general this record turned out huge. The recording quality is awesome, the melodies are breathtaking and it really fun to tickle out all those instruments and triffles, that are to find on this great record. And so you find trumpets, synthesizer, piano and tons of other instruments here. This album is a mile-stone in modern Rock music and it get's highly recommended here.
