Everyday Sunday - Wake Up Wake Up

Inpop Records/ Gerth.de music . 05/22/2007 . written by Oliver . genre: Melodic Rock/ Punk/ Emo

EveryDaySundayEveryday Sunday is a young christian Pop Punk band from Columbus, Ohio that already released their fourth record. After having releases out on Flicker Records the band got signed to Inpop Records in 2007 and released their latest effort "Wake Up! Wake Up!" there. The record contains classic Pop Punk songs pretty much in the vein of Relient-K, Sum-41 and Blink-182. It is almost impudent how much ES sounds like the listed band, nevertheless I feel fine with it because they really sound good and the melodies are just stunning. The singers voice is young - but pleasant at least. The blend of Pop Punk tunes with hard edged guitars really sounds impressive to me. "Wake Up! Wake Up!" contains ten fresh, sunshiny Pop Punk tunes, that spread a good atmosphere. The band recorded with Aaron Shannon at Quad Studios in Nashville, TN. A couple of bands alike The Juliana Theory and The Films recorded at that studio. The most outstanding tracks are the opener track "Let´s Go Back", which sounds like a Sum-41 track and "Take Me Out", which sounds as if members from Relient-K and Blink-182 formed a new group. To me this great record has a lot to reveal among great melodies, hard edged guitars and real personal feelings.
