Escape The Fate - This war is ours

Ronald Radke found Escape The Fate in 2005. In the same year the young band has taken part in a Radio contest that was judged by My Chemical Romance. They won the 1st prize. Epitaph Records showed a strong interest in the band and released an EP and a full lenght album with them. In 2006 singer and former Ronald Radke got dropped from the band. He got accused for beeing guilty assisting in a murder. Shortly after Radke left Omar Espinosa left the band for good. You may recognize that a lot of trouble has afflicted the band in the past. Today Craig Edward Mabbitt (ex-Bless The Fall/ The Word Alive) is doing the vocals but he has not sung on the current recording, instead Max Green (bass) did. Nevertheless Craig got listed as official singer. The songs are really infective and powerful. The songs have turned out so great, so strong and melodic and so beautiful at once. The record includes 11 tracks plus 1 bonus track, if you have the European version of the CD. To me the most outstanding tracks are: "Something" and "Let it go". The first track reminds me so strongly to My Chemical Romance (compare those glittering guitars and the screwing guitar-riffs). "Let it go" is a killler-ballard with powerful drums and dynamic basslines and great guitar work. This track is so driving and it makes you wanna dance directly to it. I like the fact that there are not too many Screamo-elements to find on the new record. There are only a few songs with some tiny Screamo-passages (except track #9, which is a Screamo-Rock-track). Indeed Escape The Fate have recorded a flawless Rock record with intensive melodies on. The European version of the record ends with a beautiful accoustic track, consisting of orchestral elemens and accoustic guitar.
