If God exists, then he is a band member in Days Like These! This young and talented band from Vineland, New Jersey released their second full lenght record on Lobster records. The new CD is called Inventure and it contains twelve stunning songs, recorded by Angus Cooke, who has worked with bands like Bad Astronaut, The Ataris or TheSnakeTheCrossTheCrown before. The new material differs a lot from the old release: In the past the band internalized a lot of depressive and dark mood. They shown some parallels to bands like Boy Set´s Fire, just without any screaming parts. Now the band is back and everything around them suddenly sounds pretty fresh and bright. Angel [vocals] has such an impressive voice, which is so beautiful on one hand but pretty powerful on the other hand. Inventure contains twelve catchy Pop songs, which will leave you breathless, when you listen to them for the very first time, cause they contain so much power and passion. Days Like These outrivaled themselfes. This time the band inserted so many ideas and trifles, which make it a pure joy to listen to this release. The frisky record satisfy the listener with slamming drums, huge basslines and dominant piano/syntheziser work. Keith Douglas, formally known as trumpeter in Mad Caddies, helped out with his instrument in song number five, which is called "Caution". This stunning and mature Rock tune definitely shows, that the band has tried to walk new and unusual ways. The most outstanding songs are: "Somehow Saturn", "Generation RX", "Welcome Home" and at least the impressive ballard "99 cent dreams". This stunning ballard developes in steps: It starts with dark piano adoption, melancholic vocals, several strange noises and a thunderstorm. After 1.12 minutes soft drums start to spin, violins start playing and suddenly the ballard gathers momentum. The drums and the piano become more dominat and suddenly the song fades out with soft vocals and silent violin again. The result about this record is pretty clear: DLT has developed a very own style. The record is not compareable with their last record any more, cause both releases differ very much from each other. This record might help DLT to reach a huge crowd. I am sure, that people from many scenes will pay attention to this perfect release.
