Craig´s Brother - Epidemic EP

One of my favourite melody punk bands is back. After leaving Toothandnail in trouble and after loosing several band members to other bands, like Adam and Andy got out and found their new band Too Bad Eugene (and later Thrush), while Ted Bond (Ted has an older brother named Craig) decided to keep his band going. This band is so awesome! Everything about that band is great: The past releases (Homecoming [98], Lost At Sea [00]), Ted´s unusaual voice, which sounds a lot like Kermit The Frog and the bandname sounds great. Takeover Records decided to sign CB, after they was years off beeing away from punkrock business. Now Craig´s Brother is back and the result has turned out awesome. For everyone that never heard about CB, this meldody punk stuff must be heaven on earth. CB has unbelieveable talent and they showed it on Homecoming (1998) and Lost at sea (2000) before. Their first release sounds like a cross between Iron Maidon and Lagwagon, the second release totally differs to this, cause it was really dark and haunting but awesome at least. Now the kings of melody-skate-core are back with their EP Epidemic. On one hand I am totally glad, cause CB is back again after years, but on the other hand I expected a little bit more. They showed so much talent on their past releases by having choirs and violins and a lot of technical stuff used on their recordings. This time it´s "only" pure melody punk, but nevertheless unreachable for so many bands. If you mix up the very best songs from Strung Out, Adhesive, Lagwagon, Inspection12, The Rivets, Rufio, Slick Shoes and Whippersnapper then you might create CRAIG´S BROTHER - the best melody band on earth.
