Copeland - In Motion

The Militia Group . 03/22/2005 . written by Oliver . genre: Indie/ Pop/ Emo

CopelandCopeland was known as an emotional band, with a strong poetic effort and sentimental lyrics, but it seems like these days are almost over because the new release offers much more rock-influenced songs in comparison to their old release. “In Motion” is a masterpiece with astonishing vocals and driving melodies. I really prefer the singer’s warm and cozy voice, which makes it a pleasure to listen to this album. I also like the fact that the band still uses piano and violin. I really can’t believe how good those songs are; I almost can’t stand still here. I think the band has made a huge step forward: They have left the sad and depressive way they walked before. Now the songs sound fresh and lucky. I paid a lot of attention to the drums, which are really astonishing in my opinion, because they really sound totally powerful and slamming. If you won’t believe me, compare the title track “In Motion”. The drums are really fat and the chorus is so great and powerful. I even can figure out some hard edged guitars and some fat bass lines, which totally changes the bands old “Emo-face”. Now the band has become mature and much more professional. You should look out for this band in the future!
