I really cannot believe how great Closure In Moscow are - and now I do understand that Equal Vision wanted to have this Australian Rock act get signed to their label. It is because their music sounds like a perfect mixture between Cinema Surprise, Saosin, Chiodos, Kaddisfly, The Fall Of Troy, Emery and Coheed And Cambria. You won't believe me? I was shocked when I heard them for the first time. Lead singer Chris De Cinque has such a wonderful voice - I really mean that! His warm but mature voice definitely awakes emotions. I also like the strong and hectic guitar riffs, which remind me so much to The Fall Of Troy. "The Penance and the patience" unfortunately contains only six wonderful progressive Rock tracks. The record takes about 25 minutes of total time but this is just to short. The EP makes so hungry for new music to come. Equal Vision plans to release their new full lenght album in May. The EP starts with a song, called "We Want Guarantees, Not Hunger Pains". This song - and even the refrain - reminds me so much to The Fall Of Troy and Saosin. The most intersting song to find is called "Breathing Underwater" with Angelina Morino on guest vocals. Listen to these freaking-strong guitars and the disco-drums in the back. The refrain belongs to the very best, that I have ever heard. After 1:55 minutes of time the song starts to change. A synthesizer starts to play and Angelina sings. This passage sounds so frightening and haunting - but even romantic. Hard to explain, but this tune awakes tons of emotions. I love the fact, that the song is becoming harder and faster in the end. Beau McKee is playing drums and you definitely have to pay attention to his skills. He is really awesome. It seems as if perfect musicians have combined and found a band. Closure In Moscow is originally signed to Shock Records (Bodyjar/ Frenzhal Rhomb) in Australia and Equal Vision in the US. To me this band belongs to the very best bands that I have ever listen to. By the way: The EP booklet was created by famous designer Team "We Are Synapse".
