Closure In Moscow - First Temple

Closure In MoscowOn May 5th Australia's best progressive Rock artist Closure In Moscow released its debut album trough Equal Vision records. Their EP "The Penance and the Patience" (EV, 2008) gave me a real blast; therefore I was curious if "First Temple" will make me speechless again. And yes, it does, but not in the same intensive way the EP did to me before. First Temple shows a very plain artwork. The cover is kept dark red with an golden insect on, the booklet is kept in cream white with several small decorations on. Famous designer team We Are Synapse once again created a very beautiful and impresse work, altough the cover and the booklet are kept in a simple way. "First Temple" contains twelve very interesting Progressive Rock tracks, that makes every fan of Coheed And Cambria, Davenport Cabinet, Saosin and The Fall Of Troy totally freak out. Well, now I already listed the bands that Closure In Moscow totally remind me of. Their debut release is a real imaginative record with a high technical approach. The impressive guitar shredding work may even impress a real Jimi Hendrix fan. They also had a couple of guestmusicians, like Chad Crawford from Scary Kids Scaring Kids on piono. Frontman Chris deCinque has a real impressive voice. His fragile voice definately reminds me to Cove Rebert (lead singer in Saosin). Fans that can relate on A Skylit Drive, Saosin, Of Machines and The Fall Of Troy should definitely check out this hard egded, hectic record, which has simply turned out so impressive. I guess EV records definately has released a milestone in brilliant music here.
