Bullets To Broadway - Drink Positive [EP]
Red Scare Records . release date: 11/08/2005 . written by Oliver
Sometimes
destiny is forming great bands: Matt, Heather and Keith from Teen
Idols decided to quit the band and to found a new band. They
called two friends from the Florida band "Reharsher". Those
friends was Geis and Gui, who completed the quintett in their presence.
Afterwards the new formed band got called Bullets To Broadway and they started recording their seven-song debut EP with long time
friend Roger Lima - bassist and vocalist of Less Than Jake.
They also knew about Toby from Fatwreck, who runs his own label, that
they got signed to yet - Redscare records. Luck or destiny brought
the band and the labelowner together. So, what do you have to expect,
when you only know about the facts I just quoted here? I will explain
right now: BTB plays melodic Pop punk, fronted by a male and a female
singer. When both share the vocals, they totally remind me to the
Dance Hall Crashers then. The songs falter from mid-tempo
tunes to superfast Skatepunk tunes. Heather has a nice and sweet voice,
while her coleague Matt has a pretty raw voice. I need to admit, that I am not really into the band´s style, nevertheless
I like this symbiosis of those two singers on the mircophone. Indeed,
Drink Positive, totally speaks to fans of Less Than Jake, Dance Hall
Crashers and Teen Idols. The bands debut EP already shows lot´s of
potential and I am pretty sure, that this band will form a solid fan
base in the future.
