Train To Vegas is the newest band of the Nitro records family.
BTTV plays some hectic post-hardcore music with enthusiastic vocals,
jamming drums and screeching guitars. The band totally reminds me
of a mixture between Billy Talent, Brazil, Coalesce, The Kinison
and At The Drive In. I am not sure what to write about this
band, cause on one hand they sound like a copy of the listed bands
from above. But on the other hand, they have some interesting passages,
which really catch my attention. In those exciting moments I can figure
out some melodies, passionate vocals, amazing choruses and pretty
powerful hardcore anthems plus some intensive drum- and great technical guitar work.
The record contains eleven hard edged songs, mainly consisting of
agressive screaming and detuned guitars. I have to stay fair with
this release, because the band is not really bad - indeed they are
even good - but I think they serve a genre, that is going down the
drain. If you into progressive/post hardcore music, then you should
not hesitate to buy this record. Nevertheless I need to mention, that their music is sometimes even pretty haunting, wild and freaked out on one hand. But it is also danceable and full of lust and passion. I really like the great riffs and the outstanding chords.
