Before
Today is a young band from San Diego, wich spreads it talent
now on Equal Vision records. They differ from many other aggressive
melodic bands, because they have so many relaxed and smooth parts
in their music, which they create with synthezisers. I am very stocked
about the record. I like those synthezisers, compared with back-up-vocals
and these detuned guitars. I focussed on the Outro, which reminds
me to come Easy-listening stuff with great basslines and powerful drums. This
song would fit more then perfectly into a surf video. Really well, but
I think you are more interested about the singer: He combines
powerful and aggressive screaming with amazing, refreshing melodies.
The whole music is really energetic and it shows a lot of technical
skills. You find midtempo and some really fast tunes. It sounds as if Rufio got crossed
with Audiokarate, mixed up with some metal and emo, like Glasseater does, plus some intensive screaming. I think
kids will love the new - and young - kings on Equal Visions records.
