Atreyu - Lead sail and paper anchor

I was always a big Atreyu fan and I still love them very much. The band has cancelled their contracts with Victory records and got signed to Hollywood records (the same label, that The Plain White T´s are on). Roadrunner records distribute the new record in Europe. The newest record from Atreyu is called "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" and it contains eleven slamming metal-hardcore tracks. The formula for sucsess could be, that Atreyu consits of two singers - Alex Varkatzas (the shouter) and Brandon Saller (drummer, normal voice). You may know the same concept from Underoath. Atreyu, who formed in 1998 in Orange County, has released their third full lenght record. They proove once again, that they belong to the very best bands from the Metal/HC/Post-Hardcore genre. Anyone who calls them "Screamo" deserves a kick in the ass. This is not only screaming and singing. Atreyu has so much more talent and the band shows it with every new album they bring out. On "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" they have completed their music with tons of triffles and additional instruments, like piano, syntheziser, several crazy effects, gleamy back up vocals, choirs and violins. Track Number 5 is pretty fast and reminds me to older MyChemicalRomance tracks, "Two become one" spreads an oriental flaire, Blow (track 10) sounds like a 80´s metal classic, Lead Sails (track 11) is a beautiful country based ballard and "Falling Down" sounds like a sensational party track, that you have to shake your hips to. You can even figure out a trumpet (!) in the back. Sounds strange? Well it is. Atreyu prooves their amazing skills with this masterpiece.
