Anti Flag has released For Blood And Empire on a new label. The Pittsburgh fourtett left Fatwreck in 2005 and got signed to RCA records in 2006, home of Avril Lavigne, Foo Fighters, Christina Aguiliera and other great artists. You don´t need to be sceptic because AntiFlag has not lost its soul. They are still a very critical and political band, with many important arguments and serious ideas against war and goverment. Chris#2 once told me that the media, like CNN, doesn´t really take the band very serious. But I think this situation will chance soon, cause now they have a strong label in the back, which may help them to spread the message worldwide against all the idiocy of war, G. Bush and his dumb little asshole helpers. For Blood And Empire really impress me a lot, because the band is really not shy to shout out what they think about all the media, tyranny and war in the world. Blood And Empire really reflects actual political incidents on the base of intelligent songwriting and it contains enough courage to speak out loud, what is really wrong in the world. What is the secret about Antiflag and its sucsess? I think one aspect might be, that they have enough self-assurance to speak out, what annoyes them, furthermore those guys are great songwriters with a good feeling for melodic street punk songs. For Blood And Empire contains 13 songs with a huge Punk attitude, performed and recorded in the classic AF manner, that the band stands for since years. This record is really awesome, but not as perfect as their previous release "Terror State". Anyway, For Blood And Empire will definitely catch peoples attention and make them start thinking. It is time for a new election to gain peace again and to save human lifes.
