Anthony Green (current singer for Circa Survive/ Ex-Saosin) has found a solo-project. His debut record got released trough Photofinish/ Warner records on August 5, 2008. To many fans it may seem a redemption from his "original-music". Green recorded this emotional accoustic album at his ladies family house, just one block away from the beach in NJ. Green wrote about the atmosphere in the town: "In the beginning of march the town is empty as shit and made for a crazy strange,amazing atmosphere". The calming atmosphere had a huge effect on Anthony who prepared these songs for over ten years now and finally recorded them just in the right moment. He called his collection of songs "Avalon" - a record, that is dominated by silent tunes and emotional accoustic songs. Me honestly need to admit, that I am missing a full band and electro-guitars. Nevertheless there are a lot of really good songs to find on the record. There is only one really strong song with electro-guitar to find, which is called "Dear Child". The tune reminds me a lot to his first steps when he was frontman in Saosin. The driving Rock-song has a stunning refrain, surrounded by slamming drums and strong guitars. Even MacBeth Footwear has grabbed that song to present it on its website. Anthony is an active member in the MacBeth team. "Babygirl" is a wonderful love-ballard with "Flamenco-drums" and beautiful guitars in the back. Anthony has recorded a collection of personal and beautiful songs, that have turned out too silent sometimes in my opinion. I mean I really love those accoustics albums like Second Hand Serenade and Dashboard Confessional made, but I don´t think that Anthony has the same potential like the listed musicians. Green recorded good songs but after listenening to them for a few times they really turn boring to me. I am pretty confused about that, because I love Anthony´s voice pretty much but I really like him better in Circa Survive. For his solo-project Anthony recorded every instrument on his own, but he performs live on stage with My Good Old War (Ex-Days Away).
