Angels And Airwaves - I Empire

Tom DeLonge (ex Blink-182) and his new band "Angels and Airwaves" present their brandnew record "I-empire" on Geffen/Suretone records. You may have heard, that their foregoer record "We Don't Need To Whisper" was a huge flop. The record did not sold well. I also read the same about the new record (I empire). I honestly need to admit, that I was not a huge fan of the old record. It was pretty boring and the songs had noting, that catched my attention. Ok, I mean, Tom has inserted many exciting noises, that he created with a syntheziser. Tom describes his new band as a mixture of bands like U2, Blink, Boxcarracer and Coldplay. Well, I think the describtion was pretty good for the old record. I would like to focus on the new record now, that has turned out more melodic and more friendlier in comparison to the old record. I was never really into Tom´s voice. Strange to say, but on "I-empire" his voice sounds really good and mature. Once again I can find out additional instruments on the new record, like synthesizers. I don´t know, what Tom has made different in comparison to the old record, but in my opinion "I empire" offer much more tracks, that I can refer on and even sing-a-long to. The most outstanding track, that I can find on "I-empire" is called "Everything´s magic". This tune reminds me to an 80´s classic, with clapping hands in the back and great vocals. This tune is a mid-tempo Rock tune, with honest lyrics and great melodies. The new record contains twelve sophisticated songs, with killer hooks, damn good refrains, great drum style and perfect vocals and lyrics. Tom´s songwriting has become much more serious and deeper, than ever before in Blink or Boxcarracer. I would like to encourage you to buy this record, because it has turned out so much better, that their foregoer record.
