Anadivine - Zoo
The Militia Group . 09/21/2004 . written by Oliver . genre: EMO
Anadivine has become one of my new favourite bands. They started up with an amazing EP on Side Cho records, almost an half year ago. Now they are back with an amazing emo-post hardcore release, called Zoo, released on The Militia group. Seems as if this young band is unstopable: They employed the Coldwar kids to create their new cover and Ed Rose, who already worked with bands like Saves the day or The get up kids, mixed up the complete album. Nevertheless I need to add, that I am a little bit sad by listening to Zoo, cause Anadivines older self titled release was such an intensive emotional approach, that made you really silent and thinking. Zoo don´t contents that depressive-, intensive emo that you could find on that EP before, but this time dancing hits like “the timid gentlemen” overwhelm. Zoo has become more mature, more aggressive, more driving and different than Anadivine before. It´s like finding back to old Saves the day releases, while having a very own style. Anadivine invited once again Heather Kluepfel, wich already did some vocal parts on that EP too. She has a wonderful voice and she perfectly guides Sean and Michael while singing. I swear, if you need a good replacement for all your lovely heart breaking emo bands, then choose this young band here.
