Alkaline Trio released their album “Crimson” (Vagrant) as one of their most successful and musically brilliant played album in the typical and unique Alkaline Trio-style. Expectations about “Crimson Deluxe Edition”, that should contain these songs in demo- and acoustic-versions were high.So this double CD package contains a normal audio CD with calm and pure versions of the original “Crimson” album, which projects the style and great atmosphere Alkaline Trio provides anyways even more intensively into your head and heart than I expected. “just” used as demos, a big amount of these songs express a brilliant pure and personal touch and give you a close feeling to the songs, as you would sit next to Matt Skiba while recording. His voice and the excellent played music without any special mixing and effects, mirrors the quality of Derek Grant, Matt Skiba and Dan .. .being great musicians, who show that they don’t need post production to make good music. Overwhelming is the word that describes my goose bombs creating feeling at the end, when they play this acoustic version of their great atmospheric opener “time to waste”. Nothing could support and complete this unique style of Alkaline Trio better than this song – this CD! Alkaline Trio love their music, and they LIVE their music!
