A Small Victory - El Camino
Lobster Records . 2004
ASV, is a young indie-rock band from Georgia, that has released their very first full lenght record, called "El Camino", on Lobster records. ASV has definitely increased it´s skills and talent. The full lenght has turned out so much better, when I compare their old EP "The pieces we keep" with the new record. El Camino contains ten melodic rock songs, paired with energic drums, super great vocals and pretty good guitar skills. The five piece band consits of Reppard Walker- who has a wonderful and powerful voice, Danny Song who plays lead guitar, Luke Aaron who plays rhythm guitar in ASV, John Addington (bass) and Ziggy Adam (drums). ASV offers pretty good mid-tempo songs, hooked with back up vocals, hard edged guitars and powerful drum work. “Farewell Capeside” (track #10) surprises trough beeing a half-accoustic, and a half Rock based song. All their skills find a climax in a song called “James Dean B-side”, which is the very best one in my opinion. ASV plays melodic rock, without any screaming parts plus a lot of passion and energy.
